The cabinet to the right houses a 5.1 surround sound system. The front left and right speakers are located in this photo directly above the pictures on the wall. You cannot see them because they are the Flat Panel 228 Speakers by Stealth Acoustics.

mounting flange if 5/8” drywall is being used. It is important the face of the speaker panel be mounted a minimum of 1/16” further out from the studs than the finish surface of the drywall. This will allow space for joint compound, tape and the feathering of the joint compound away from the speaker panel. Build up of joint compound on the face of the speaker panel inside the dotted line will deteriorate the acoustic performance. Like all drywall finishing, the quality of the end result is a product of the care and expertise of the finisher.
